    Pedal guards are a simple and effective safety adaptation that work in conjunction with primary function hand controls and are often installed at the same time. Driving using hand controls eliminates the need to operate the foot pedals in the conventional way. A simple guard prevents the pedals being accessed. Designed for drivers who have restricted mobility in their lower limbs, or are at increased risk of involuntarily moving their legs due to muscle spasms etc, pedal guards prevent the feet getting trapped or any accidental pressing of the floor pedals whilst driving using the fitted hand controls.

    The adaptation sits in front of the original floor pedals and creates a comfortable place for the driver’s feet to rest against. Available as a single pedal guard which covers the brake pedal or double pedal guard which covers both the brake and the accelerator pedals. Often a guard is fitted to protect the brake pedal only and the accelerator is modified with a hinge, allowing the pedal to be folded up out of the way when driving with hand controls. 

    The Guards are constructed from hard wearing metal and are a robust and compact adaptation, designed for the purpose of safety whilst driving. Available for most makes and models of vehicle with automatic transmission, they are easily detachable with a quick release mechanism, allowing the vehicle to be driven in the usual way by another driver. No alteration is made to the original structure of the vehicle during installation of the pedal guards.

    The hand control, also known as a Push Pull Brake Accelerator, enables the driver to effectively and safely accelerate and brake by using their hands. A highly functional and popular vehicle adaptation which is suitable for all automatic transmission vehicles, including hybrid and fully electric. Pull the lever back to accelerate and push forward to brake by using a single hand.

    Particularly suitable for those with reduced strength or limited mobility in their lower limbs. Moving the pedal functions to a simple to operate, user-friendly lever attached to the steering column.     Paravan’s Space Drive II is a world leading driving system for disabled drivers. It enables drivers with limited movement, strength or even missing limbs to be able to drive a vehicle. Controlling the brake, accelerator, steering is made possible with a range of ‘input devices’ that create endless possibilities and combinations to suit each individual user. The Space Drive system can be used as a single or a dual system, allowing either steering or gas/brake to be fitted independently, or both together for a complete solution.

    The input devices can be fitted anywhere in a vehicle providing a bespoke result for the customer. The range of input devices available consists of Joystick steering and Joystick gas brake, Gas/brake levers, Mini steering wheels, rotational input steering devices and custom-made tiller systems. Each of the input devices can be individually calibrated to suit the customer’s needs via the built-in check control or a laptop. Space Drive II also features speed dependent steering and fully programmable parameters, which enables the entire system to be calibrated to each individual driver.

    Paravan adopted a safety-first approach when designing the Space Drive II system, utilising fly by wire technology for computerised driving. The system itself has multiple redundant backup systems with two back-up systems running in parallel and its own backup battery system. This enables the driver to have full control of the vehicle, even if the car's power circuits fail. Space Drive II has been approved for use all over the world and conforms to some of the most stringent testing in the automotive industry. 

    An additional benefit of the Space Drive II system is that it can be easily disengaged allowing the vehicle to be driven by an able-bodied driver.

    The Space Drive II Mini Rotational steering device is part of the electronically (digitally) controlled input device family for the Paravan Space Drive system. This steering adaptation is suitable for those with even severely reduced mobility, who cannot operate a standard steering wheel effectively. The rotational steering device is available in two basic options: Each one is small, compact, and ergonomically designed for optimum comfort and control whilst steering a vehicle. The purpose of each device is to overcome the challenge of steering safely due to physical limitations. A selection of handles is available giving the individual customer the best, most comfortable, and secure grip possible, including Peg and Tetra grip

    Option 1: Wrist rotation control. The wrist rotation is controlled by wrist movements on a precision guide rail from which the angle of rotation can be adjusted.

    Option 2: Parabolic control: Allows digital steering using movement from the shoulder area. Suitable for severe disabilities including quadriplegics. Simple straight-line driving is achieved by precision guide rails and the device’s ability to independently return to a central position.

    Both the Wrist rotation and Parabolic controls are available with a high degree of adjustability, with lighter or heavier springs depending on the customers’ requirements. Allowing steering to be extra light that does not need much effort to operate, to heavier steering for those with reduced sensitivity.

    The rotational steering input devices are part of the Space Drive product group and are therefore all completely programmable to the individual user through software and programming. They can be fitted almost anywhere to achieve the most comfortable operation possible.

    If required, it is possible to integrate the Paravan electric gear selector system into the unit allowing easy access to gear control. In addition, a ‘bleeper’ system can be added to the peg enabling the driver to control a range of secondary functions, including, Indicators, lights, horn, flash and main beam, wipers, hazard lights. All the vehicle controls are then accessible from one compact space.

    The Space Drive II Gas brake lever is part of the input device family for the Paravan Space Drive system. The Gas Brake Lever comes in two basic options: A radial type and a linear type. Although almost identical to look at, they perform in different ways. A radial type rocks back and forth in a pivotal type of motion from one point. The Linea type, which as the name suggests, acts in a straight equal, push and pull motion. Both options perform the same function, it’s down to personal choice and ease of use which one is chosen.

    In addition to the two basic options, each version has springs of different tension weights. Allowing people with varying degrees of strength and sensitivity in their arms to find the perfect tension for them to operate the brake safely and confidently. Fully adjustable to each person’s requirements. From virtually no effort needed, to stiff springs for those with severely reduced sensitivity.

    Both the linear and the radial versions are available with different type of handles to choose from, to provide the maximum comfort while operating. If required, there is the option to add a range of secondary controls e.g., Indicators, lights, horn, flash and main beam, wipers, hazard lights that can be controlled from within easy reach of the gas brake lever.

    The Paravan gear control works from a simple, four button touch pad that is available as a standalone unit or as part of the Space Drive equipment range. The unit can be mounted anywhere in the vehicle, allowing it to be fitted in the best place for the driver’s optimum comfort, abilities and within easy reach of other hand controls. A valuable, user-friendly adaptation for the disabled driver to easily operate the gears at the touch of a button.

    The touch pads consist of four buttons to control Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive. It is possible in selected vehicles, to have up to three more gear positions utilized through programming the touchpad during installation. For example, if the vehicle has two extra driving modes (those with low range or sports mode etc.) these modes can be accessed by pressing the Drive button in a sequence. pressing the Drive button once will put the vehicle into the usual drive mode. Pressing Drive again will engage the next mode and pressing one more time will engage the last mode. Simply press a fourth time to time to re-engage normal drive mode. Allowing the full potential and characteristics of these vehicles to be experienced.

    To ensure maximum safety for driver and passengers, the gear selector will only engage if the brake is depressed. This eliminates the possibility of unintentionally changing gear if any of the touch pad buttons are accidently pressed whilst the vehicle is in motion.     The Space Drive II Joystick is part of the input device family for the Paravan Space Drive system. The joystick’s function is to control the vehicles primary controls from a reliable, user friendly, ergonomic stick. The joystick is available in three basic options for control. 2-way steering, which is configured to control the steering of the vehicle with a full range of steering capabilities. 2-way accelerator and brake, a simple push to brake and pull to accelerate movement (this can be programmed to work on a push to accelerate, pull to brake movement if preferred)

     For those with severely limited mobility there is an innovative 4-way joystick. The vehicles acceleration, braking and steering are all controlled from one single Joy stick. Moving the stick left and right controls steering, forwards and backwards will control the vehicle’s acceleration and braking.

    The Joystick is customised and adjusted to the individual capabilities and strength of the driver. There are a range of springs with varying degrees of tension that are available for each of the options. From a light spring, needing almost zero effort to move the stick, to a heavier spring for those with limited sensitivity.

    To guarantee maximum comfort each Joystick comes in a variety of bespoke grip options, that can be made to a specific length, diameter, and shape using various materials. Each tailored to the individual customer. The “Golf ball” type grips are a popular request, and we will strive to cater for every customer’s wishes.

    If required, a range of secondary controls can be added to operate Indicators, lights, horn, flash and main beam, wipers, hazard lights etc., all within easy reach of the Joystick.

    This popular driving adaptation is ideal for anyone who is finding that turning the steering wheel on their vehicle is too heavy and hard work.

    Lightening the power steering is achieved by removing the vehicle's steering rack/column and modifying it accordingly. Either mechanically or electronically lightening the steering by variable degrees is suitable for most vehicles with hydraulic or electric steering, including hybrid and fully electric models*. Your vehicle does not have to be new to have the steering adjusted in this way.

    Lightened power steering enables drivers with significantly reduced strength, or drivers who need to steer their vehicle using one hand only, to drive without fatigue. The degree of lightness required can be determined through an assessment and the steering altered appropriately.     A simple and very popular device, designed to make steering your vehicle easier when using only one hand on the steering wheel. Often used in conjunction with hand controls that operate the brake and accelerator. One hand always remains on the hand control, either to accelerate or brake, leaving only one hand to steer the vehicle. The steering ball allows safer and greater control over the steering wheel when driving with a single hand, whilst minimising the physical effort needed to rotate the wheel, ideal for those with reduced strength in their arms.

    Steering balls can be fitted to all vehicles and positioned anywhere on the steering wheel, 10 o’clock, 2 o’clock etc. The choice is down to personal preference, the most comfortable driving position, and the firmest grip for the individual. Available as a standard fixed model, which is permanently attached to the wheel in the best position for the driver, or a quick release option.

    The quick release ball can be detached and reattached easily, leaving only the low-profile base clamp in place, allowing steering in the traditional way by another driver. A useful alternative if someone else drives your vehicle on a regular basis. The ball itself does not prevent the car from being steered in the usual manner whilst still in situ, however, some drivers prefer the ball to be detached before driving.

     Fitted onto the steering wheel by means of two bolts and a single clamp and available in selected designs including Ball, Tulip, or Mushroom. Once again, the choice is down to the individual. Each design is ergonomically shaped for the utmost comfort during prolonged use.

    With its understated discrete design, The Guidosimplex Over-Ring is an effective electronic hand control for acceleration, without adding additional levers to the steering column or steering wheel.

    Fitted directly over the original steering wheel, the Over Ring blends in perfectly with the steering wheel design. To operate, simply press any part of the Over-Ring to achieve smooth acceleration. The Over-Rings’ simple lines, together with the included Guidosimplex Mechanical Push Brake Lever, offers a safe and effective solution to those unable to operate the traditional foot pedals on their automatic transmission vehicle.

    By allowing the driver to maintain their usual driving position, and more importantly, allowing the driver to keep both hands on the steering wheel while accelerating, the Over Ring delivers superior control and comfort.     The floor mounted left foot accelerator is extremely beneficial for those with no or limited use of their right leg. Or even those who just find right foot acceleration awkward and uncomfortable. 

    Transferring the accelerator pedal operating position from its default location on the right of the brake pedal to the left without compromising on acceleration. The floor mounted, quick and easily release function enables the adaptation to be removed without difficulty.

    This pedal adaptation is suitable for a wide range of automatic transmission vehicles. Allowing the vehicle’s acceleration to be controlled by the left foot, ensuring the driver can maintain a comfortable and safe driving position.

    The floor mounted foot pedal comes complete with a pedal guard. This important safety feature sits over the vehicle’s original right accelerator pedal to prevent accident depression with the right foot whilst driving using the left foot to accelerate, preventing both pedals being inadvertently pressed at the same time. The left foot accelerator pedal is fitted to the left of the original brake pedal, it looks, and feels like the original pedal and retains the full range of acceleration.

    Conveniently, the floor mounted left foot accelerator is easily reversible. Its “quick release” feature allows the whole unit to be removed quickly and easily, allowing the vehicle to be driven by another driver using the original right accelerator pedal.

    The vehicle's original wiring and internal mechanisms are not altered during installation.
